Missing Them

I miss my girls everyday. I think about them all day. I don't worry about them. I just want them. I want to hear their voice. See them smile. Watch them play. All the things I know they do in a day, that I, myself miss.

When the work day is over, I can't wait to get my hands on them. The feeling is pretty mutual as well. Nothing can describe the feeling I get when two, squealing little girls run to greet me with hugs and kisses. The world stands still for just a minute and the three of us just hang right there, floating on our group high. As they both say all the time, we are a family.

Both smiles fill me full. Full of satisfaction and comfort. I can't think of one thing that can bring me back up like the beauty of their faces.

I can't help but miss it all. The boo boo's. The chalk drawings. The tantrums. And yes, there are plenty of those too. But somehow they replace and find the happiness most always. That is just how it works.

But, wishing I was a stay at home mom is just that. A wish. It isn't something that is possible for us right now. It seems like one would argue that there is always a way. But this is our way. It works for us and I just appreciate the time I get with them that much more. Quality. Not Quantity. And that is OK. Each night before they lay their heads on their pillow, they know. They look at me and they tell me, mommy, I missed you today. But it will be Saturday soon and we will be together. For two whole days. I live for weekends and this weekend is going to be great. We head to the beach on Sunday. Looking forward to sand castles and sea shells. Be back in a week!!

Shall We Go?

The weekend was full. And when I say full, I mean "how in the world did we do it all full". I loved every minute of it. Between play and prayer, fullfilling is actually the appropriate word.

Our Saturday morning started off just the way we like it. Lazy and uneventful. Little girls cuddled in our bed, talking about all the fun things we were going to do.

Later in the day, Nana(whom is feeling some better), came over for a visit and dinner. While here, we colored our Easter Eggs and ate lot's of goodies that we don't normally get.

These wonderful things just made us want to dance. So, that is just what we did.

Sorry, I couldn't resist this shot of the bunny.

This little girl is just NOT about getting her picture taken. I have to plan it just perfectly. Catching her is nearly impossible. She doesn't sit still at all.

Sunday morning brought big smiles to THREE little girls faces. While at Walgreen's the other night, I told Andy about how badly I wanted one of the extra large pre-packaged Easter Basket's they make when I was a little girl. True to form, he came through. I, along with the girls, woke up to a mountain of Easter Bunny treats. Our Easter Bunny is the best in the world.

You might be wondering where the title of this post comes from. I am about to fill you in on that. The message at church this wonderful Easter Day was amazing. I caught myself hearing the words, yet putting myself somewhere else. Somewhere that I want to go, but, just like every other Christian, sometimes forget. The message was that in all the sacrifice that was made for us, the only thing in return He asks, is that we go. We spread his word and take what he has given and done for us and live it. To teach that the ultimate goal is that when He comes, we know where we are going. I think I stopped breathing for a brief moment. It was a wonderful service. The kids came and filled the cross full of beautiful, fresh flowers. The smell was invigorating. The colors filled that sanctuary like an endless rainbow. Beautiful.

thank you uncle denton for the wonderful pictures. as you can see, i was a little busy.

Our Sunday ended with just as much fun as our Saturday began with. Dinner at Aunt Ginger and Uncle Thad's. With the works. Easter Egg hunts and good food were the setting for a wonderful way to end our weekend. And what a surprise it was when Uncle Thad invited the little ones to see the helicopter.

I am tired. Truly tired this Sunday evening. Again, I sit here wondering how on earth I fit it all in. I guess when you are a parent, it comes effortlessly. Just like His dying for us. So, shall we go? Oh yes, I will. And I won't look back. After all, I look at two of his miracles everyday.

Happy Easter and much love to all.....

Sticking Around

Our plan for the Easter Bunny to take Easter(our bunny) home with him has changed. Looks like he will be sticking around. A little girl sure loves her bunny.

It is so funny to watch her. She has this way of using where we live to it's fullest. She is brave. I love watching her be so independent. The kind of independent that screams, I am not afraid. I'll feed the bunny. I'll get him out of the cage. I'll climb the fence. She puts all that our wonderful home has to offer to good use. I remember watching the children of a good friend of mine at a young age do things like saddle a horse or pick up earthworms. I remember thinking at that moment. I hope my kids are like this. So far I am one for one.

Life has been crazy, busy lately. In a good way and in a not so good way. Our Nana is still not feeling well and we miss her. We just want her to feel better very soon.

We have a fun Beach trip planned in a couple of weeks. The girls can't wait. They have been practicing their swimming techniques on the carpeted floor in our basement. One word. Hilarious. I wish I had pictures. You can just use your imagination. It will give you a good idea.

The girls also start a new school on May 9th. While we are very sad that they will be leaving Miss Tanya, it is time and they are ready. The Bean is rocking the potty thing. I have been so lucky with both girls. It has been so easy.

Speaking of the Bean, she has grown up so much in the past few weeks. I just watch her sometimes and wonder where in the world my baby went. I want it back so bad in one way and on the other hand, knowing that they are growing together and making their own memories is wonderful.

The week is half over. Easter is Sunday. We have our best dresses ready. The eggs are ready for dying and just like our life, they will be full of color.

Happy Hump Day out there.

Cruisin

Thanks to a good friend, the girls got their first set of wheels. In the most perfect color. PINK.
The Bear is the driver and her co-pilot just laughs and smiles the whole time. It was so funny to watch them when it arrived. It was like they both knew just which place they were to take. No arguing. Can you believe it? Oh, it is a big, big hit and I see us having lots of fun with it this summer.

Speaking of fun, we had the best time Saturday evening with a couple of our new church families. It was so kind of them to welcome us into their home. The food was wonderful and the girls just loved everything there was to do. From Princesses to Guniea Pigs to Air Hockey. Chuck-E-Cheese doesn't have anything on them. For sure!! We hope that we didn't scare them too bad and that we will be invited back very soon.

Sunday afternoon was so warm and sunny. Daddy was cleaning the "monster" grill, and if there is water, well, there are two little girls with lots of grins and giggles.

Friday evening we celebrated a sweet, little boys first birthday. My nephew Jacob has truly been an inspiration to so many and being a part of this special milestone was wonderful. Big sister made the cake and she was so proud. She should be. It was beautiful.

The weather is looking up for outside fun. I do believe we are going to spend lots of time outside this summer season. The girls are at such a fun age. Their imagination is soaring and time is just a thing. We have picnics and playdates planned. Colors are peeking out all around our house.

Speaking of colors, those dandelions that are usually a royal pain in the you know what are beautiful. They are coming to me daily. Two little girls bring them to me every time we are outside. They are so proud and each time it makes my heart melt.

In ending, if you could spare an extra prayer for our Nana, she is not feeling too well. We haven't seen her in a while and are really hoping that we can get our hands on her very soon.

Happy Spring Everyone!
